I'm a business owner in my 50’s and have suffered mental health issues since I was 12 years old. I've have had countless therapists over the years while dealing with my issues and a few months ago had to reach out for help yet again. As I have had so many different therapists over the years I've come to realise that a really good one is very hard to find. I feel confident in saying Alan is the best I've ever dealt with, precise, caring, easy to get along with, honest, these are some of the traits he has but the list is much longer. I'm so thankful I met Alan as he helps me deal with a very long list of issues, bereavement, stress, anxiety, depression, he is skilled enough to deal with everything and I'm so thankful I found him.

I am a woman in my mid-thirties and have experienced chronic anxiety for over 20 years, during this period I have been prescribed and taken various antidepressants in the hope these would make it go away. They didn't. As the years went by I increasingly felt swamped by my anxiety and my life became ruled by negative and obsessive thoughts. I was recommended to Alan from a mutual friend and he was the first person I had really explored my experiences with. I found Alan easy to talk to and he didn’t judge me even though I was talking about some really strange issues. He guided me through my thought processes and helped me understand what drives my anxiety. I learnt new perspectives and developed a different way of thinking and interacting with the world. I am now living my life so differently and doing things I have avoided for years. I feel more confident, content and 'free' and it makes life so much more enjoyable! Thank you Alan

I've been having counselling with Alan for a year now, starting with weekly sessions. He's helped with every aspect thats been thrown into our sessions. Some of my sessions have been incredibly hard for me talking about things I'd never share with friends but Alan has always made me feel comfortable and confident enough to eventually address these issues with him. I am, through my own choice, still seeing him every two weeks. His professional approach and ability to ensure my mindset and direction is always benefiting my mental well-being day to day is always very important to him. This is key to feeling healthy, happy and content with my life and I'm so proud of myself and the journey I've been on with him. I have achieved so much and for the first time, I understand and like who I am. I can only thank him for this. Without our therapy sessions, I'd never be in the mental place I am right now. The hard work, many tears and frustrations mixed with much laughter on my part have paid off. I'd recommend him to anyone, he's been a constant rock to me throughout a very difficult year. He's a credit to the many counsellors that work selflessly in helping others.
Thank you Alan, you are a bright shiny diamond!

I worked with Alan over a three-month period last year, during which time he has helped me transform my life, and enabled me to join society again.
Following a short illness, I became house bound, not for any physical reason, but a psychological reason that I just couldn’t get over. It took me weeks just to get up the courage to contact a therapist which I eventually did through my GP.
I initially spoke to Alan on the telephone during which he both encouraged and supported me to take a risk and come and see him, something I did the following week with the support of my wife.
The first session went really well and I started going to see Alan on a weekly basis from then on.
After only seven sessions I was able to start back to work on a temporary basis, I have to say Alan was a massive help there also, as he spent time with the HR department of my company and together, they worked out a return to work program for me.
I continued to work with Alan for a further four or five session during which time I began to venture out socially and eventually I felt able to return to work full time.
I can honestly say that until I spoke with Alan and then worked so hard with him on my recovery over the period of time that I did, I thought I would never get to go out of my house ever again. To say he changed my life is an understatement and something I will be forever grateful for.
Thank you, Alan,
Daren
The Doctor diagnosed me with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and although
I was very skeptical about counselling, I still made an appointment
went to see Alan.
It was very hard work opening up and speaking about my worries but now the nightmares have stopped and my friends say I'm back to my old self.
I feel great. Thank you.

Before I went to see Alan, I wasn’t able to drive alone in a car
and I hadn't been on a train for over 8 years because of my fears.
After just 8 sessions with Alan, which I have to say were quite tiring, I had driven on the motorway alone and even been on 2 train journeys.
Alan made the counselling sessions easy to attend and never
once made me feel silly or embarrassed about what I was there for.
He is the most approachable person I have ever met.
I can't believe what you did for me, thank you so much.
Miss K
